What the number is used for
During the event weekend, this number sends and receives short operational
messages between event command and a small, known roster of volunteer
crew — van assignments, status updates ("READY",
"FULL"), and short replies to crew questions. Recipients are
volunteers who have signed up for this specific event and provided their
number for that purpose.
Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies with event activity — it is heaviest during the three event days and largely quiet the rest of the year.
